If you’re a supermarket refrigeration engineer looking for a role where the earnings are strong, the workload is realistic, and the contract is well organised, this opportunity in central England could be the right move.
You’ll be joining a team maintaining refrigeration systems across a large UK supermarket network, working with modern equipment including CO₂ packs, integrals and cold rooms. The work is planned, the expectations are clear, and the rota is structured so engineers know where they stand.
Alongside a basic salary up to £50,000, you’ll benefit from door-to-door pay, overtime at time and a half, private healthcare and a company van available for personal use.
This is a field-based role covering supermarket sites across Birmingham, Coventry, Derby, Dudley, Leicester, Nottingham, Northampton, Stoke-on-Trent, Walsall, and Wolverhampton, engineers can be based anywhere across the Central region, focused on keeping refrigeration systems operating safely and efficiently.
What you’ll be doing as Refrigeration Engineer
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across multiple stores
- Responding to reactive refrigeration faults and breakdowns
- Diagnosing issues on CO₂ refrigeration pack systems
- Working on integral refrigeration units and cold rooms
- Completing repairs and small installation or modification work when required
- Identifying long-term issues and advising on appropriate repairs or replacements

What We’re Looking for in a Refrigeration Engineer:
Essential experience & qualifications
- NVQ / SVQ Level 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (or equivalent)
- F-Gas Category 1 certification (C&G 2079-1)
- At least 3 years’ experience working on supermarket refrigeration systems
- Experience with packs, integrals and cold rooms
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- CO₂ refrigeration training or certification
Hours:
- You’ll work a 42.5 hour week
