You will work closely with management, project teams and site personnel to identify hazards, reduce risk and support consistent compliance standards.
This is a multi-site role requiring regular travel to support operational locations nationwide.
Key Responsibilities as HSQE Advisor
- Support the HSQE Manager with the maintenance and improvement of HSQE management systems
- Implement, monitor and review HSQE procedures, documentation and reporting processes
- Provide technical advice to directors, managers, employees and subcontractors
- Support project delivery to ensure full CDM compliance, including Client, Principal Contractor and Principal Designer duties
- Act as a client interface for HSQE matters
- Investigate incidents, accidents and near-miss events and implement corrective actions
- Develop and manage audit programmes aligned with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards
- Monitor contractor compliance and conduct site audits and inspections
- Report performance trends and improvement actions to senior management
- Maintain effective preventative and corrective action systems
Essential Skills & Experience as HSQE Advisor
- A confident HSQE professional able to work independently and collaboratively
- Excellent verbal, written and report-writing communication skills
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Full flexibility to travel to multiple sites
- Strong IT skills including Word, Excel and database systems
Desired Qualifications & Knowledge of HSQE Advisor
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar HSQE role within construction, engineering, manufacturing or building services
- NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent)
- Demonstrable experience working to:
- ISO 9001:2015 – Quality
- ISO 45001:2018 – Health & Safety
- ISO 14001:2015 – Environmental
- Internal or Lead Auditor qualification (QMS, EMS or OHSM)
- Professional membership such as IOSH, IIRSM or ISEP
- Working knowledge of CDM Regulations
- NEBOSH Environmental or Fire Safety Certificates
- Level 3 Award in Education & Training
- CCNSG Safety Passport
- Experience working with accreditations such as Safe Contractor or JOSCAR
