The Role

As an Industrial Refrigeration Engineer, you’ll be the technical expert on-site, responsible for diagnosing, servicing, maintaining and commissioning commercial and industrial refrigeration systems across a varied customer base.

 

This is a hands-on position combining mechanical and electrical expertise, where safety, customer satisfaction and technical excellence are key. You’ll work independently across customer sites, ensuring equipment operates safely, efficiently and reliably.

 

What you’ll be doing as an Industrial Refrigeration Engineer:

  • Service, maintain, repair and commission industrial refrigeration, air conditioning and process plant.
  • Carry out mechanical and electrical fault finding and technical diagnostics.
  • Complete installations and commission refrigeration systems to the required standards.
  • Produce accurate technical reports and complete timesheets to support efficient service delivery.
  • Liaise with customers to ensure excellent service and identify further opportunities.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues and apprentices where required.
  • Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety legislation and company quality standards.

 

What We’re Looking For

To be successful as an Industrial Refrigeration Engineer, you’ll ideally have:

 

  • Experience working on industrial refrigeration systems with Ammonia (NH3) qualification/experience preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience servicing, installing and maintaining refrigeration systems.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
  • Experience working with refrigeration compressors, controls and instrumentation.
  • A background in light industrial refrigeration, commercial refrigeration or chillers will also be considered.
  • Experience with HCFC, HFC and NH3 refrigerants (CO₂ and hydrocarbon experience would be advantageous).
  • F-Gas qualification (C&G 2079) and Safe Handling of Ammonia certification would be beneficial.
  • A proactive approach with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

The Role

This is a hybrid position, with a weekly split between office-based planning and coordination duties, and hands-on support in the field. When working on-site, you’ll act as the lead engineer, providing technical guidance and assisting with challenging installations, maintenance and repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

What you’ll be doing as Industrial Refrigeration Engineer:

  • Perform service, maintenance, repair, and commissioning of refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
  • Carry out on-site installation and commissioning to meet required standards.
  • Produce detailed technical reports and complete timesheets to support timely invoicing.
  • Supervise and train junior engineers/apprentices on-site.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company quality standards.

 

What We’re Looking for in an Industrial Refrigeration Engineer:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in servicing, installing, and performing mechanical and electrical work on industrial refrigeration systems.
  • Strong fault-finding skills and experience working with Ammonia refrigerant is essential.

What you’ll be doing as Quality Control Engineer:

  • Preparing and coordinating Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and quality documentation
  • Coordinating internal, client and third-party inspections
  • Conducting off-site inspections of packaged chillers and engineered equipment
  • Carrying out plant inspections at various build stages to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications
  • Managing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and ensuring corrective actions are completed
  • Reviewing inspection test packages and confirming all ITP witness and hold points are completed
  • Supporting the preparation and submission of Life Time Quality Records and Manufacturing Record Books
  • Producing detailed inspection reports and working closely with the Project Manager to resolve quality issues
  • The role will involve some travel across the UK a couple of times per month

 

What We’re Looking for in a Quality Control Engineer:

We’re looking for a detail-focused Quality professional with experience working in technical or engineering environments.

 

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a Quality Control, Inspection or QA role
  • Experience working within engineering, manufacturing, HVAC, refrigeration, or industrial environments
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and suppliers
